Holidays are murder for an adolescent’s sleeping patterns – but not as if they’re not bad enough already.
I realise this would be my first post, which makes it a really random thing to start with. Frankly, I can be very blunt at times. And I’m also very lazy.
There you have it, my life story. One more thing – I’m a schizo. Well not really, but I’d like to think I am since it’d be the only decent explanation for my hyperactive behaviour at times. I think that’s all the info you need to arm yourself with
What was I saying? Right.. (damnit I gave an introduction without meaning to.)
Anyways, the other day, I was a bit depressed after spending the whole day doing Year 8 maths (no I’m not stupid, I’m ambitious) and then mum berated me for slacking off (come on! I had been working solidly for about 7 hours ==’) so I ended up camping on our couch in front of the telly out of spite. I think I was trying to strike or make a stand of some sort – honestly, I have no idea. Stupid behaviour.
I’m trying to look up what I had watched that day but yourTV.com.au won’t let me see guides older than 24 hours… I don’t even remember what the date was, or channel. All I know is that, between what I was watching, there were lots of profane ads imploring viewers to text some profane word to some 13 **** number to get some profane videos. That’s how late it was. 4 episodes of Sex and the City (or was it 3? D:) later, TV had run out of Australian material and went over to promoting American household products and dieting plans (the ‘Flavourwave’ was pretty cool, though).
Eventually, I decided to go brush my teeth and zonk out on the couch, leaving the lights and TV on at low volume – an innocent scene, right? All was going well until I started having cough spazzes, God I hate those (sorry Car). I was choking on my own saliva. Eventually I made enough ruckus for mum to realise I wasn’t in bed. She yelled at me in a whispery-loud voice, and sent me to bed. It was past 4 am, the next day.
Recently, I’ve been better
I’m actually trying for a consistent bedtime now. Currently, it’s just under 1 am. I just can’t seem to fall asleep, or even feel tired, until the barrier between days passes. I hope Gold Coast will fix me up
